New patients will have an initial consultation so that I can become familiar with their history and specific concerns. Often a working diagnosis and preliminary treatment plan can be made at the conclusion of the initial visit. Alternatively, some patients may be better served by a longer period of consultation before specific treatments are recommended. If I determine that I am not the most effective provider for your specific needs, I will refer you to a more appropriate specialist.
Follow-up visits: Once a medication is started, monitoring will be required and adjustments may need to be made. The frequency of these visits will vary and are based on your response to the medication, side effects and severity of symptoms. Psychotherapy is most often scheduled weekly or bi-weekly on an ongoing basis. Psychoanalysis is scheduled 3-5 times a week. Once your appointment is scheduled, you will be expected to pay for it unless you provide at least 24 hours advance notice of cancellation. If you do not provide at least 24 hours notice, or fail to show for a scheduled appointment, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. If you cancel a regularly scheduled psychotherapy appointment and we are able to reschedule your appointment during the same week, the cancellation fee will not apply. It is very important that you arrive on time for your appointment. If you are late, your visit will not be extended. If you have missed more than half of your appointment time, the appointment will need to be rescheduled. This does not apply to therapy appointments. If you arrive late for your session, you will be seen for the remaining time of your appointment. Reimbursement: I am considered an out-of-network provider for all insurances. I will not bill the insurance company directly, but I will provide patients with a statement containing all information needed to file with their insurances. Methods of payment: cash, check, Zelle. Payment is expected at the time of service. Office hours: 8 AM- 4 PM Communication: Email is intended for non-urgent, non-medical communications only. The security of your email cannot be guaranteed.
